Anaesthesia team of NSH consists of 2 consultants, 1 resident & 2 anaesthesia technicians.
This team covers the pre-anaesthesia check up of the patient, intraoperative anaesthesia, sedation for invasive procedures or in paediatric patients and early post operative care in the recovery room.
In the ICU, the anaesthesia team is responsible for the ventilatory support & sedation of the patients and for the necessary invasive techniques – central & arterial lines. Anaesthetists also participate in the team approach for pain management - nerve blocks, epidural infiltration or catheters, etc…
The NSH anaesthesia department is supplied with state of the art monitoring, ventilatory and other equipment to support their expertise in brain and spinal cord protection in cerebral and spinal surgeries.
